Birmingham School of Law moved to the current campus in early 2014. The Judge Hugh A. Locke Building is a 3-story, 42,000-square-foot facility located at the corner of 22nd Street and 3rd Avenue South. The building was renovated in 2013 with an eye to maintaining its historic aspect and feel from when it was first built in the 1920s.
The foyer features historic tile that is a reproduction of the original tile used within the building from original construction until the 1990s. The law library and adjoining computer lab provide an ideal study environment as quiet areas offering all necessary tools to perform legal research and to prepare for classes and exams.
The building includes a mock courtroom and two conference areas for testing trial cases and for use by Birmingham School of Law’s mock trial team. Both the student lounge and the rooftop terrace, which features an excellent view of Birmingham, offer space for group study, relaxing with a snack before classes, or commiserating with friends.
