More than 50 alumni, students, faculty, friends, and families from Birmingham School of Law met on the Home Run Porch at Regions Park for the 3rd Annual BSL Day on June 2nd. Attendees enjoyed a warm and breezy day at the ballpark and watched an exciting baseball game between the Birmingham Barons and the Jackson Generals.

Guests enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs while catching up with one another. It was a wonderful night for baseball, and the game was exciting. Unfortunately, the Barons did not win the 10-inning contest.

BSL Dean Jim Bushnell, his wife, and son attended the event as did UAB Professor Brandon Blankenship and his wife, Donna Lee. “I have been working with Professor Blankenship on building BSL’s relationship with UAB, and this was an opportunity for us to casually discuss future endeavors between BSL and the pre-law program at UAB,” says BSL Associate Dean Scott Garrett.

Dean Garrett was pleased with the turnout and said the BSL Day was a great success. “I truly enjoy spending time with the students and alums and their families. Events like this are important in building a sense of community and pride around BSL, and I am grateful for the opportunity to organize the event.”
