Job Description: Assistant Public Defenders will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. These attorneys will handle a caseload consisting of low-level felonies and probation revocations while being supervised by a Senior Assistant Public Defender. Our office is organized to provide vertical representation to clients, meaning Assistant Public Defenders will help their clients through all phases of a criminal case, beginning to end (i.e. bond hearings, preliminary hearings, evidentiary pre-trial hearings, trial, sentencing hearings, post-conviction hearings). These attorneys will also assist Senior Assistant Public Defenders in trials involving major felony offenses. Assistant Public Defenders are expected to deliver zealous advocacy on behalf of their clients whether before a judge, jury, or prosecutor while negotiating a fair and acceptable plea resolution.

Open to graduating 3Ls, recent graduates.

Starting salary is $70,000+ / year, depending on experience.
