We are proud to share that Matthew McCullars, an esteemed graduate of the Birmingham School of Law, has been appointed by Governor Kay Ivey as the District Judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit in Calhoun County.
Matthew’s appointment is a testament to his dedication to the law, his professional achievements, and his commitment to serving his community. After earning his Juris Doctorate from our law program, he went on to serve as Assistant District Attorney in Calhoun County. He has also devoted the majority of his professional time as a Criminal Law professor at both Jacksonville State University and the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy.
This distinguished honor highlights the caliber of legal professionals our program strives to develop, and we couldn’t be more proud to see Matthew’s continued success in the field.
